We had a water cooler already - but I wanted an ice maker and our refrigerator does not have the capability to have one put in (and the freezer is always full - so there's never any room for trays). I saw this wtare cooler / ice maker and while it is costly it does serve 2 purposes. We received it on Friday and my husband did as instructions said as far as taking some things apart to clean, etc... before use. Afterwards he put water bottle on top and within minutes we had ice. Everyone in the house LOVES this machine. Fresh water as usual and now ice at anytime. We haven't run out of ice yet - because it senses when it is getting low and makes more. Worth the price to me!!!

It's a great value for the price! I would give it 5 stars if the motor wasn't humming when it's trying to keep it's temperatures.

It worked great at first. Then, after about 2 weeks water started leaking past the solenoid vlave into the ice compartment. I was unable to locate a vendor outside of China that sold a replacement valve. I disasembled the valve and cleaned it. This appears to have fixed the problem. Otherwise, I am quite happy with it. It make cold water and ice at a rate faster than my family can consume it.
