Spent over $1000 on this product and it only worked for 2 yrs and 2 months. Put up with having to restart it over and over for a couple of months, then contacted service. Danby tech told the service guy that the main board and the solenoid were commonly malfunctioning and as a result they had re-engineered the parts, but would not provide them at no charge as the warranty had expired. They freely admitted it was badly engineered and they had fixed it but because it didn't fail for me until after the warranty expired I would have to spend $400 to fix it. Had it failed 4 months sooner as was inevitable, it wouldn't have cost me anything.The Danby folks are rude and do not stand behind their products, the "customer service" rep told me basically so sorry but it worked for you for 2 yrs so I don't see what the issue is. $1000 for a cooler that only works for 2 yrs due to bad design and faulty parts is beyond ridiculous.DO NOT BUY DANBY PRODUCTS. You have been warned.

DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT. I bought this unit three years ago and nothing but problems after 6 months. It actually was heating my wine. I only asked for Danby to fix the unit but it took several calls and to get someone to service the unit after another six months. Finally it was repaired but 6 months later I had the same problem. The united started heating both side which obviously ruins wine. When we called Danby again they told me they would call me back as it out of warranty but never called back. When I do call back they won't give me an answer but transfer me around or disconnect the call. You would think you would better service for paying a thousand dollars.I have bought several things online and have never had a complaint or written a bad review. DANBY is my first and hopefully my last. They are horrible about backing up their product.

The only thing worse than the quality of this unit is the service that backs it up. They claim to stand behind everything for 2 years but they dont tell you no one is going to pick up the phone to handle your claim. I bought this unit in sept of 2009. it stopped working in sept of 2009. The store i got it from said i would have the part (circuit board) in 3 months. When i told them this would not suffice i finally got a replacement unit. That worked for 10months. Now the compressor is shot. Danby doesnt answer the phone. It reminds me of a Jaguar. Looks great, built like crap.
